Vehicle Insurance
These insurance conditions are only applicable to our own cars/4x4’s in the fleet and not to any rentals that we offer.
Standard Insurance (with an Insurance Excess Deposit applicable)
At Safari4x4Hire, all our vehicles have standard insurance cover for your total peace of mind. In South Africa the cost of Third Party liability is included in the price of fuel.
Safari4x4Hire takes care of all your insurance formalities and cross border authorization once we have received a mailed photocopy (not fax), or scanned e-mailed copy, of the Passport, Drivers license and Intl. Drivers license (in English) of all the designated drivers at least 10 working days before collection. The comprehensive insurance includes claims for accident, fire, theft and own damage – negligence is not covered.
The insurance covers travelling in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Malawi*, Swaziland, Tanzania* and Kenya* (You will need a Carnet de Passage for driving within Tanzania and Kenya). Some of these countries require an additional insurance/Third Party, which you can get at the border of the respective country.
* Consult at the time of booking if vehicle is permitted/insured to travel to this country.

Although Safari 4x4 Hire is a '4X4 outfit' we have the means to supply vehicles anywhere in the country including all the major airports.
Our vehicle hire fleet is made up of a whole range of passenger vehicles, one ton pick-ups (4x2 and 4x4, standard and equipped for long range trips), luxury passenger vehicles and upper level off-road vehicles.
However, our relationship with other suppliers enables us to source almost any type of car to hire. Unlike many of the larger car rental companies, we are structured in such a way as to enable us to negotiate car rental packages that meets the needs of each client.
Sourcing and supplying vehicles in Cape Town is also possible. We pride ourselves on the fact that we provide a personalized car rental service, with attention to detail and customer satisfaction being top priority. We offer a wide variety of rental cars which means we can literally source any type of rental car you may require (subject to availability and Terms & Conditions apply).

About Safari Moto Hire
Safari Moto Hire specializes in BMW based motorcycle tours in Southern Africa. We are passionate about adventure, the outdoors and motorcycles. Our aim is to offer our clients a once in a lifetime experience in Africa, while sharing our passion for freedom on a motorcycle. We offer guided tours; self guided tours as well as motorcycle rentals all with the option of a 4x4 backup service.
We cover spectacular areas that include the splendid Garden Route in the Western Cape, the barren deserts of Namibia, the salt pans of Botswana and the white washed beaches of Mozambique.
Southern Africa has excellent conditions for biking with good roads (tarred & gravel), exciting country tracks and excellent weather.
Dual purpose motorcycles such as the BMW GS range, Dakar, Adventure - Honda, Africa Twin, Trans Alp, Varadero - KTM, and similar machines are all suitable. Bring your own bikes or rent one of ours.
Our tour leader will accompany the route by motorcycle for local tours, and for long distance and cross-country tours a tour guide in a support vehicle will escort the tour. Baggage, supplies and spares will be carried in the support vehicle.

- Whilst it is always best to tour with your own safety equipment, we hire Open and Full face Helmets at a reasonable rate.
